During Year 2 Semester 2, we went to China for the Asia Pacific Experiencing Architecture programme for 9 days and 8 nights from 25/11 to 3/12/2023 in a group of about 50 persons including students and lecturers. We visited two cities which are Chengdu and Chongqing, and each gives off different atmosphere as we went. We went to Chengdu and stayed there for 4 days, travelled to Chongqing for 1 day and stayed until the last day.
Day 1
We departed to Chengdu from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 8 am flight and we arrived at Chengdu around 3pm. After going through various customs and terminals, we finally reached our hostel at 7pm. After that, we were free to explore around the area by ourselves.
Day 2
We started our trip early in the morning at a famous museum called Jinsha Site Museum Tourist Center (金沙遗迹博物馆). Then, we took our lunch at Tianfu Square (天府广场) and explored around the Chengdu Museum as well as the surrounding area. After that, we went to Kuanzhai Alley (宽窄巷子) which was a heritage marketplace and the place that we found as our cultural assignment study.
Day 3
We went to see the famous mascots of China which is a panda called "Hua Hua", at Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (成都大熊猫基地). After that, we went to some cultural places such as the Du Fu Thatched Cottage (杜甫草堂) and Jin Li Ancient Street (锦里街). We also had a chance to enjoy Chinese tea culture.
Day 4
We started our last day trip in Chengdu at a refreshing park called Wang Jiang Lou Park (望江楼公园). I personally love the calm peaceful atmosphere at the park that I feel relaxing. After an energizing stroll, we continued our journey to visit cultural places such as Dongjiao Memory (东郊记忆) and Wenshu Yuan Monastery (文殊院). Before we end our day, we went to visit Chengdu SKP, a high-end modern shopping mall.
That's all for part 1, check out part 2: Chongqing trip...
