Project Brief
Students are asked to design a personal container space for a rising / newly / new-born Local Designer / Artist. The space will be used for stay, work and showcase their artwork with other functional space (Parlor) that it may think appropriate to support the character of the owner. Your idea can be derived through the Artist / Designer’s philosophy that also reflected by the functional form, shape and space to achieve the ideal combination of functionality and space characteristic for your client.
The built-up area of the space is within 80-100sqm with the mixture use of sized container 6000 L x 2400 W x 2500 H (mm) and 3000 L x 2400 W x 2500 H (mm). The allowable height for your structural configuration of the shipping container is 1.5 storey. The container must have a double volume.
The personal space from Project 1 must be include in this container. Student need to refine and find suitable space to be fit in your overall the design. This personal space may be the unique parlor.
Your design proposals need to respond to your Client’s needs/requirements such as type of activity, space function, circulation, theme/ mood of the space in which you need to show the conceptual ideas/intent, orientation to site, opening, view, form, spatial arrangement/ layout, furniture and volumes. The detail selection of furnishing (detail) and finishing (material) should be considered to deliberately give comfortable and lively space to the Client.
